Your immediate action is needed to support the proposal of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife (301 KAR 2:082) to prohibit future possession of inherently dangerous exotic animals including tigers, lions, non-human primates, dangerous reptiles, and bears.

This proposal was passed by the Subcommittee, but there is one more hurdle to ensure this proposal is adopted.

The proposal was sent to the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.

If the committee approves it, without changes, by July 12 it will go into effect.

Please take action today to help ensure wild animals are kept in the wild, not in our homes.

What You Can Do:
1. Please call the Chairs of the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources today to urge them to support the proposal on the prohibition on new exotic pets and to let the proposal go into effect with no changes. Reaching the committee co-chairs is most important.

You can leave a message for everyone on the committee at this toll-free phone number: 800-372-7181.

Sample Phone Message

"I would like to leave a message for the Chairs of the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources: Senator Tom Jensen, Representative Jim Gooch, and Representative Thomas McKee that I support Proposal 301 KAR 2:082 which addresses the transportation and holding of exotic animals and I urge them to let the proposal go into effect with no changes."
