I have just finished reading the book She Said Yes. It is the courageous story of Cassie Bernall, a student at Columbine that was approached by the shooters and asked, "Do you believe in God?" and she answered, "Yes" just seconds before shooting her at point blank range, killing her instantly.
It is an awesome book, written by her mother, Misty Bernall. Her mother doesnt try to make her daughter appear to be a saint. She recalls the good times and the bad times before the shootings.
I wont give a full blown review of the book, but I will say it is an awesome testimony for teenage and adult Christians alike.
Of course, we never know exactly how we would react if faced with that situation, but just the same, I am interested in your thoughts.
If someone pointed a gun to your head and asked, "Do you believe in God?", what do you think your answer would be?
My answer:
I would say YES. God has never turned His back on me, nor denied me. I may not always live my life according to His will, but that is at the fault of no one other than myself. Still, knowing He died for my sins, I could never deny Him, even if it meant my life.

.................I would say YES too!!
We are only on this fallen world at most----100 years, yet eternity & forever is...well...forever. I would hate to leave my family & friends, however, forever is a loooooong time.
Remember, if you deny him, he will deny you in front of the Father.
That is a no-no!
Here's a favorite verse of mine:
Romans 10:9 (NIV)
9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Cassie said it well & so would I............see ya Mark

Remember when Jesus was on the cross, they was not a traffic jam at the foot of the cross. This is a awesome book and a great inspiration .

.....I agree with the "lack of" traffic at the foot of the cross.
However, these days are different & here's why.....they were experiencing Jesus 1st hand then & really didn't understand him very well. After Penecost, that changed. We had the Bible written & 2000+ years to study & learn it.
They were learning his teachings & were confused all the time. We on the other hand, have NO excuses in today's world...............see ya Mark

I didnt even know this book existed until my 13 year old son came home and told me about it last week. When I checked out the book today, I didnt realize that the 6th anniversary of the shootings is April 20th. Kind of fitting and ironic, isnt it?

I'll probably get a lot of flack for this, but rent Bowling for Columbine to honor those who died during the Columbine shootings. Some may not agree with Michael Moore's politics, but if you haven't seen Bowling for Columbine it is an excellent documentary about the incident.

You can take this in another direction. There were a lot of people that said they didn’t believe in God and were executed. Or not the “right” god. It still happens in this day and age.

I totally agree with you, Jeremy. One of the few DVDs I've bought.

I would say yes. I believe the "Word" it says deny, me and I will deny you in front of my Father. I too don't live as I should, but I do belive Jesus was born and crucified on a cross for my sins and arose the 3rd day. Yes I belive in God.
