Does anybody know of someone that works on garage door openers? I have a name of someone in Georgetown, Ohio, but I was wondering if there was someone in the Mason County area. This thing has lost its range. The door opener for the car works in the garage, but not outside anymore. And the remote keypad does not work anymore either. New batteries did not help. I didn’t think they would as both quit together. So if there is someone that can troubleshoot this door, please let me know. Thanks.

......there is a Overhead garage door dealer that warehouses his stuff in a building beside the library behind January Street along E 4th St. I remember him from the route.

I'm not sure about his work quality but his # is 563-7777.

Hope this helps. Good luck...............see ya Mark

I talked to a guy up at work that had the same problem with his Sears opener. Sears said to buy a new opener. Sears told him the circuit board was bad. $75 for the board, $50 to install it. New opener is $129 on sale. Drat. If it EVER warms up, I’ll pop the cover to make sure the antenna wire still has a good connection.

TK,
If the opener is working inside the garage, that tells me the board is likely still OK. Does your opener have a sensor or an antana? If it has a sensor, make sure it's pointed correctly. Sometimes they can get bumped, and end up facing upward where the remotes will not work well unless your inside the garage where the beam can bounce around a little.
Just another thought, make sure your door sensors (on each side of the door) are clean and not being blocked. This time of year, the sensors can get a little salt debris on them, which makes the opener think there's something in the door path, which can also affect the opening of the door. Just some things you might want to try before calling in a service pesron
Good luck,
Eddie

The opener just has a thin wire hanging off of it. I have attached a longer wire and I ran it outside the building for better pickup. The building is metal and that is what Sears recommended. Worked great for 3 years. The door eyes still work great. I know what you're talking about on them. Sometimes a spider web blocks them. Thanks for the info.
