Crispy Creme located in the Wal-Mart Super Center will be leaving. Not for sure of any of the details just heard that will be leaving in approximately 30 days or so.

So if you still have the craving for Hot, fresh Crispy Cremes you better get them before their gone.

Heard that Blimpie, Subway or even a McD's might be taking Crispy Creme place.

If McD's gets in Wal Mart, I know I will be leaving the kids at home. LOL

That would be nice. But then again the merchant would lose out on all those impulse purchases that come from the kids. LOL.

Wow, that spot is big enough for a White Castle. But Wally’s wouldn’t allow that to happen. People don’t buy as much when they’re full. I can always dream though.

I think a Waffle House would be the best thing there. White Castles need there own building with a drive through so I can make laps....

Talked to a Kripsy Kreme employee today and she said that Krispie Kreme is NOT closing or moving. All they did was drop a few routes to the local gas stations and that it started rumors among Wal-Mart employees that they would be closing. I love rumors :) Anyway, if you have a craving for those little round health hazards they'll still be there next month, according to the employee of Krispie Kreme.

I guess they need to let the walmart heads know, cuz they told them that walmart already had 3 different offers on the space....

I'll check with Terry or Paul they will give the heads up on this, for sure.

In a way, that makes sense. Why move from a honeypot, into a desert? That would definately be committing sucicde (business sucicde).

Ahhh...'little round health hazards' - what a way to go, though! :) Be covered with tons of raspberry fille bizmarks, and just out of the oven donuts, and have to EAT your way free...Talk about a Homor moment. [munch, gobble] More...[gulp, chomp]

The manager at Krispie Kreme swears up and down that they are not moving and has no idea why when you call Wal-Mart they say Krispie Kreme is moving. Strange. I sense a conspiracy here.

Could be a conspiracy on Krispy Kreme's part. Like most (if not all) corporations, why would they admit that they were closing a location until THEY were ready to make the statement to the local press? It could be that the employees don't know anything about it, and the General Mgr. of the store knows, but can't let any information out at this time. KK would have to let Wal-Mart know ahead of time in order to live up to their lease agreement, or to finalize a buyout of the lease.

That would be the easy answer, but if you look at the headlines and see their stock price, the company is in financial disarray. I was told last summer by a Krispy Kreme store General Mgr. that without a delivery route, this store or one like it could not survive on in-store sales alone. Maysville Krispy Kreme lost their delivery route (or a least a large portion of it; I've heard both stories from employees and stores in their delivery area) a few weeks ago, so it is probably just a matter of time before the store is closed.
