............yes, my friends, The democrats have just elected the wild screaming Howard Dean as the Democratic Chairman! He is making our job a lot easier & will contribute a lot towards electing the next Republican President! Thank you, Democrats!

He definitely fits right in with Barbara Boxer, Nancy Polozi, Ted Kennedy, & KKK Byrd in taking the party even further to the left if that's possible.

They will forget the will of the people and their responsibility to their voters. HATE George Bush is still on the menu for today & looks like we will be hearing this clear up till 2008 !

Again, I personally thank you from the heart of ALL Republicans and clear thinking Democrats. I'm breathing a real sigh of relief.

Comments?? .................see ya Mark

When I first heard that Dean was trying to become the Chairman of the DNC, even though I'm a registered Republican (and usually vote that way), I was almost hoping that the DNC would wise up and and at least try to find a more "sane" option. Even though I am registered to a certain party, I try not to let that sway who I vote for ("Vote the man, not the party").
Unfortunately, even though the Democrats say they want to unite America, given the rhetoric/slam jobs/trash they spread during the last year or so, electing Howard Dean to this post does nothing to show me, and probably a lot of other voters, that the party as a whole wants to change the perception that most Americans have of the Democratic party. Until the venom and hate disappear from the Democratic party, the Republican Party should not have much to worry about in any major election. Contrary to what the leadership of the DNC thinks, we don't want trash-talk; we want change where change is needed, not "I hate everything that George Bush says, thinks, or writes".
On a lighter note.....how long before Dean cuts loose with another ill-placed war-hoop?

..........I also try not to let the party "sway" my thinking either, however, in the last 10-12 years or so, there really hasn't been too many dem candidates that has impressed me. 99% of them are waaaay too liberal for me & apparently for most other Americans.
In this last election, I see the country finally swinging back to the right where it should be. Enough of the freebies & passing laws restricting our freedoms. Bush is the man for me, although I would like to see him become even more conservative than he is.

What we really need is another Ronald Reagan, a man that had the people on his side & wasn't afraid to take on the dems at their own game.
With this most recent announcement & the dems swinging even further to the left, it only makes my decisions a lot easier at the next election & I thank God for that..................see ya Mark

My problem is, neither party represents me. I guess you could say I’m a constitutionalist. Both parties lay their hand on a bible and swear to uphold the constitution. And then pass laws ignoring it. These clowns don’t know what a constitution is. I’m registered Republican. But this bunch seems determined to bankrupt the country. Neither party represents the common working stiff. The ones that drive 75% of the economy. They act like they never heard a word the founding fathers said. Trade only with friends. Don’t stick you nose in other countries business. If we would just follow those two principles, we would not be up to our necks in debt. I saw a comedian on HBO the other night. Lewis Black. He said the Republican party was a party of bad ideas. The Democratic party was a party of no ideas. Sums it up pretty good.

I could care less what the Democratic party does or has done. Most of the laws that are passed in Congress aren't really important ones to me and it doesn't matter if a Repulican makes them or if a Democrat does. Sure it affects me in small ways but my life is not profoundly altered by most of the laws. To me, it is just a bunch of people justifying their terms in office by passing and repealing laws. I mean they can't just sit around and do nothing and feel good about their pay checks.

For me, my feathers only get ruffled on the "big" things. I see it quite opposite from dpolley where she spoke of "rhetoric/slam jobs/trash". I didn't care about Bush at all until right before the war started. From there on out I didn't like him. I am against the war and all the people who started it, of which Bush is just one. I am against all the people who thought anyone who didn't agree with them were anti-American. I'm against all the strictly moral laws that only affect nonviolent personal choices (like the gay marriage issue), that in my opinion are uncivilized and a step backward for humanity. So if that is slam job trash talk, I think it is well deserved on the people who did these trash things.

So, that being said, all these people (like Dean and Bush) are pawns in a grand game where the agendas are what's important, not the players. I can't wait until people wise out of the current popular agenda. It may be awhile, but I'm a patient guy.

While I can agree with what I think you are trying to say (all of them are pawns in a big game), the basic message you state is exactly what is wrong with a large part of the Democratic party. As long as you can bash the current President, your day is complete. Since this is a discussion forum, and not CNN, I suggest that we back off from this subject for a while. We can agree to disagree.
By the way, I'm a "He" not a "She".

"the wild screaming Howard Dean", is this your main reason for dissapproval of Dr. Dean? If not, show us something with substance. It was only until the talking heads on television reported his excitement that the "scream" became an issue. Dr. Dean has done nothing to warrant this unfair criticism. As governor of Vermont he erased a 65 million dollar deficit, while providing a children under the age of 18 health care. Give us a REASON not to believe in Dean, not a sound byte.

...................the main reason I can think of is............he has lost control with the screaming alone. Even if he has the best record in politics, that's wonderful, although losing control in Iowa is enough for me.

If he were a Republican & did the screaming like Dean did, we ALL know the press would still be laughing & talking about it...............see ya Mark

I bet if we brought back “treason” as a crime (not just in war time) it would rid the US of a lot of gov. democrats….lol
NOTE: I said Gov.Democrats not Citizens Democates

Treason? The act of betraying your country? I believe congress is the only institution allowed to declare war. Almost the entire bunch shirked that responsibility when they gave a president sole power to wage war on an idea. That act alone would send almost every Republican to jail. Not just Democrats.

I don’t see the Democrats bashing Bush near as much as the Republicans bashed Clinton. I remember Newt Gingrige trying to hang Clinton for having you-know-what in the White House, all while having an affair himself. What a bunch of hypocrites. I did not like Clinton. But I sure got a laugh out of that.

The only treasonous act I've seen is waging a war based on false pretenses causing the death of thousands of American soldiers. Bashing the president for heinous acts is not treason, it's our duty.

Howard Dean was a good choice for leading the DNC, But I would be in favor of anyone opposed to the current choice. The whole scream deal was simply a mater of a guy who had been on the campaign trail for months trying to convience the republican party there is a better way for this country. His voice simply gave out at the wrong time. If you look at his (Dean's) capabilities, you'll see a very bright guy, who has done things that others have been afraid to touch. It's hard not to bash Bush when you look at the facts.
1. We have a RECORD deficit, which is growing everyday. Every child born in the US today owes $37,000 as their part of the Deficit.
2. We have a record trade deficit. We're importing 8 items for every 1 we export.
3 We've had hundreds of American men and Women die, fighting a war that the "good ol boy from Texas" lied to us about to get us into. We "thought" Iraq had the "potential" to make weapons, while we KNOW N. Korea has them, but we're not going after them, you know why, because little George W. came into the office wanting to finish what his Daddy couldn't.
3. Under Little George, we've lost thousands of jobs, and continue to lose more everyday.
4. We're spending billions to rebuild Iraq, one of the most oil rich countries in the Middle East, while we're paying almost $2.00 a gallon for gas. Maybe because Little George and Dick C own so much oil stock???

When Clinton was in office, we had a surplus instead of a deficit. We had jobs being created almost daily, Gas was around a $1.00 a gallon, and this country was moving forward not backwards. I'm not saying his affair was right, but that's between him, his wife, and Monica. I don't think Little George W. couldn't carry Clinton's brief case!
The only bright spot is that Little George can't run again!!! But I really don't know why the Democrats would want the office back. It'll take 20 years to fix what Little George has messed up. You need to wake up and face the facts folks, this country is in a mess and getting worst everyday... I'm affraid of just how bad it's going to be with 3 more years of Little George.

Now if this is the post you were talking about (PM).....

You cannot compare our government to that era of “Hitler”…most Christian’s think of him in an “anti-Christ “ format.
As for disrespecting our country and it leader and our flag…yes there should be consequences to that type of behavior.
And for the rest of your post….say what you want (freedom of speech) just be careful how you say it , this is a family site…you also have a habit of going from one extreme to another and hard to follow your point.

Treason? The act of betraying your country? I believe congress is the only institution allowed to declare war. Almost the entire bunch shirked that responsibility when they gave a president sole power to wage war on an idea. That act alone would send almost every Republican to jail. Not just Democrats.

The President can organize the military and send them somewhere for short military acts or to prepare for war. However, the military act can only last so long (forget how long) before the President must ask Congress for an official war or bring the troops home. This is in the Constitution.

No No No...Democrats trash our country's leader...that in my book in treason.....Wouldn't you get fired if you talked trash about your boss in public?????

See now this is what I was talking about. I don't sweat the small stuff in politics, but criticizing your leader's policies is treason? You don't get fired for treason, it is specifically punishable by death. There is nothing more patriotic than that. People always forget that a lot of the founding principles of this country are based on a natural distrust of the government. The founding fathers had just come off a monarchy government and a failed Articles of Confederation when they drafted the Constitution. The whole "right to bear arms" amendment was not put into the Constitution to protect people from burglaries, they drafted that to allow for a militia that would protect them from the federal army. It is why there are checks and balances, vetos, term limits, and a voting system. There is nothing traitorous about wanting a better America and there is certainly nothing wrong with criticizing current leaders. When Clinton was caught doing the naughty in the oval office, there was nothing traitorous about the whole impeachment process, it was just a big waste of time and money. Still, we have the impeachment process because our leaders are not gods. They are just people with hang ups the same as you and I. Kings went away a long time ago. Progress people. This isn't the middle ages.

I’ll probably get bashed for this, but I actually liked Dean. I thought he was a much better man than Kerry. But I was in the minority. I’m not a big fan of Democratic values. But the Republicans have horrified me. Once in charge, they have gone against every principle they were founded on. Less government? This bunch wants to watch everything you’re doing. Less spending? A deficit out of control. Mind your own business? They stick their noses in every countries business. Why, they act like…Democrats. To this day I can’t figure out why the middle class stays home on election day. When they are the ones most affected by what this bunch does. The older population comes out in droves. Because some politician says they will save their social security. Never mind what else he does. I’ve always said if they could resurrect Hitler, he could get elected in this country. He would say, “I’ll save social security and get rid of the gays.” And he would be worshiped. Like he once was.

................I couldn't agree more with most of that post !! The only disagreement I have with that is............too many dems in control is a scary thought also. Until 1994, dems owned the Congress for 40+ years. The spending was wildly out of control then too. The only difference now is the dems aren't in majority anymore.

You know, after reading some of Deans accomplishments on a website recently, ( if you can believe ANY website these days ) he is a much better candidate than Kerry.

I actually agree with Dean on a lot of issues. ( imagine that, huh? )
Here's where you can read some about his thought:

http://www.issues2000.org/Howard_Dean.htm

I'll pick an example. I agree with most of his death penalty thoughts.

Death penalty for extreme crimes, but applied fairly. (Jan 2004) Yes
Even terrorists deserve a fair trial. (Dec 2003) Yes
Death penalty for extreme and heinous crimes. (Nov 2003) Yes
Apply death penalty fairly & strengthen protections. (Nov 2003) Yes
Supports death penalty for terrorism. (Jun 2003) Yes
Replace overzealous capital crime trials with fair trials. (Jun 2003) ???
Re-evaluate and reform federal and state death penalty. (Jun 2003 Yes
Invest in social programs to avoid investing in prisons. (Nov 2002) NO
Supports flexible federal block grants for crime programs.(Sep 2001) NO
There's a few things we are in agreement with.

If Dean were running against Bush, I would have had a tougher decision to make voting back in November. With the ultra liberal Kerry against Bush--that one was a no brainer!
The sad part is, if Dean ever became prez....his thoughts you are reading would go out the window due to liberal pressure from other powerful dems.
In summary.....
Sometimes Congressional gridlock is a blessing.

Nothing done means we as taxpayers gets a break..........see ya Mark
