Why are they putting a stoplight up at Kenton Station? It is only a small section of road. Why not put a guardrail up and force people to come out on 68? Another stoplight will only cause more wrecks as people rear end each other on the AA and cars sideswipe each other as they will now use Kenton Station as a quickie to get around the light at 68 and AA. And as the wrecks increase at 68 and Kenton station, a demand for a stoplight there will increase. The AA is supposed to be a LIMITED access highway. Well, this is one area the state should limit. At least when the bypass goes in, little side roads will be blocked off. The road is going to affect my farm. When I talked to the state about farmers not having access to the road, I was told “We don’t want to make the same mistake we made on the AA.” Enough said. Well, Kenton station is one mistake they can cure without a stoplight.

I think they are planning some other changes around the Hospital as well. I get pretty upset with all the lights to. But there sure have been a lot of wrecks in that area. most of the wrecks seem to be at the Hospital entrance. I think one big problem is that most people who visits patients at the hospital are older people who just have a hard time both seeing and judging the speed of traffic on the AA. They should close one of the entrances to the hospital and put a light at the remaining one.
Another thought could be to put a service road with one larger intersection somewhere around the hospital to service kenton station, Morton Lane and the Hospital. All three of those places could come out at one larger intersection. They also need turning lanes into the Hospital and some of the other facilities out that way.

.................I agree with Eddie also. Another thing that needs to be done is to drop the speed limit from the Chrysler dealer eastward to Maple Leaf. The new limit can be 45 mph.
That should help some, although it's 45 mph from the AA south thru Washington on 68 & maybe 50% of the drivers honor that one.
Closing the hospital entrance on the eastern side & forcing everyone to exit the other one will help also.
There is better vision of the AA traffic at that one...............see ya Mark

I can see building a road and extending it to where it matches up at the Chrysler Dealership. Take 4 right of ways and dropping it down to one. The AA was built to get to one area of the state to another quickly. It seems like Maysville is trying to get more stoplights in a 6 mile range than the rest of the AA combined. I rarely go to northern Kentucky anymore. I go to Lexington. I can be at Blue Licks before I get out of Mason County on the AA.

I have come to the conclusion that in the last 10 years the whole layout of Mason County is messed up and the spending and the changes in their rules and regs. are getting way out of hand. We need to get fresh people in office..only my opinion mind you. This post is not aimed at just one individual. It is pretty bad when you have to ask if you can put something in your yard(yet they stick up lights where they want and stop signs where they want) Land which I (repeat) I pay taxes on…oh please…I wonder what they would think if I painted my house purple…lol
Oh wait...my taxes also pay for the lights and signs...and I don't have any say so on them ....grrrrrrrr

You don’t have to worry about your taxes paying for those lights. They pay for themselves. In added gas taxes. Vehicles consume a lot more fuel when you have stoplights every few hundred feet. And if they pass the tax on services, meaning a tax on labor at the shop, you will be paying more tax when you get your vehicle fixed due to the added wear and tear of all the stop and go driving. And as a small town goes, Maysville does have a lot of rules and regulations. I’ve said for years you need a permit to put a shingle on a doghouse.
