Gregory S. "Scrap Iron" Doyle , 49, of Old Sardis Pike, May's Lick died Friday December 24, 2004 at his home. He was a former employee of DP&L and a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a 1973 graduate of Mason County High School.
He was born in Maysville August 2, 1955 son of James S. Doyle, Jr. &Jewell Merrill Doyle of May's Lick. Survivors other than his parents are Aunts & Uncles, R.C. Merrill & Wendell Merrill of Germantown; Evalena (Joe) White and Gary (Vicki) Merrill of Dover and Treva Polly of Germantown and Mary & Tom Johnson of Lexington. He was preceded in death by 2 aunts Peggy Cracraft & Bessie Merrill.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday Dec. 28, 2004 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Dr. Michael Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Shannon Cemetery with active pallbearers, Dennis Staggs, Lennie Stitt, Ricky White, Tommy Ritchie, Jeff Hord and Ricky Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be James Stitt, Randy White, Jason Merrill, Mike Mitchell, Mark Faris, Victor Fulton, Mike Parker and Craig Rhonemus. Visitation 5-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memoorials are suggested to Hospie of Hope or Sardis United Methodist Church.
