Mine would be a underwater dive guide of shipwrecks, especially WWII wrecks in the South Pacific.
That's very close to my dream job, although mine is a) impossible at the moment, and b) it goes away from earth :)
I'd love to be able to explore the universe. I grew up dreaming from Star Trek, and the other shows. So if I could get a carrer on Starfleet, I'd take it in an instant.
The only other job that could beat this, would be as a time traveler. Especially with the Time Patrol (ALA: Poul Anderson's series)
Yeah, I dream big, but that's what dreams are all about.

What I am doing with a small change.
I really enjoy driving around and meeting new people. Fixing there computer problems. I enjoy it so much I hate that I have to charge for the service.
My dream job would be doing the same thing I am doing now only doing it for free.

Probably, since I like trail riding so much, is to have a shop and the know how to design and build some of these high dollar Jeeps. When I walk into some of these shops to buy a $15 part and end up standing next to an 80 THOUSAND DOLLAR rig, it just amazes me. It takes a lot of planning and a long time to build these from the ground up, but people order them. The knowledge to do it is one thing, a shop to do it is another. But if I had the money, I’d love to do it.

Mark, I’d almost forgot. A person that help rehabilitate mom after her stroke used to be in the British Navy as a diver. He talked about a place (Can’t remember where.) where they would dive for fun. Found a ship that was sunk in WW1 and the shells they found had beautiful brass timers on them. Had to be real careful removing them. If I remember right, he said it was a ship form Turkey. He said there was a lot of ships from WW1 down there. Nice guy, I just wish I could remember his name.

....................tkcomer, that's the kind of stuff that interests me. i would love to dive wrecks like that. While living in Tallahassee Fl in 1987-88, I always wanted to dive on the "Empire Mica, a tanker that was sunk by a German Uboat during WWII.
See link:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~gordonsteele/intro.html
During certification dives, we went down 70' to a 1920's freighter sunk off the Panama City coast & explored the outside of it. At that time, that was as a deep as I've ever been.
The Empire Mica is about 100-110 feet down, a little too deep for my expertise at the time. I've talked to others that has been down to it says it's a fabulous wreck.
Looks like I'll just have to read the internet sites about it & take their word for it.
Still interesting though.............see ya Mark

The wife told me the guy was from Rural Home Health. Don’t know if he is still there. This was 3 years ago. I don’t know about that diving. Looks fun. But there are critters out there than can eat you. I hear they won’t really eat you, they spit you back out because they don’t like the taste of human.

Yes, Mark somewhere that is quite a bit warmer than Maysville. How come I haven't gotten any hits on my question and you have sooooo many? What's the secret???? Should I send CSI or the scouts to investigate?
Chuck

Please don't send CSI Miami, I can handle the melodrama from Horacio.
As far as hits go it is just random luck what folks click on.

You guys & my wife would get along very well.
As a matter of fact, she tells me to type quietly ( the ol' puter is beside the TV in the bedroom ) but most of the time she wants to run me off when that show is on!
I try to type quietly! LOL........see ya Mark

After being on dialysis for seven years, my dream job is ANY JOB! Through the unselfish gift of a kidney from my loving wife, I am fortunate enough to be living that dream. Not only that, I get to work for Chuck, a great guy with a warped sense of humor equal to my own! I also get to meet new people and work with computers, both of which I really enjoy.
Just remember this: Never give up, and never stop dreaming. Don't be afraid to laugh, especially at yourself. Laughter is a great medicine for many illnesses. :)
