My gosh, the road gets slick for the first time and people forget how to drive. And it was slick out in front of my place. While feeding cattle on the north side of the farm, I see the sheriff writing up an accident report for an SUV that looked like it hit the guardrail. I go to the south field, and I have to check the fence because I see where someone ran off the road and down over the bank right next to the fence. No damage, but they were close. While down there, a bad wreck happens about where the first one did. Not sure how bad the person (Or people) got hurt in that one, they had one in the ambulance when I walked down there. A car driving north spun out and hit a truck pulling a gooseneck heading south. Ripped the back of the car open and threw everything out. One calf was dead in the gooseneck. I helped unload that trailer onto another. And to top it off, one idiot got tired of waiting and drove through the wreck site zig zagging through the debris with the sheriff screaming at him. I don’t know how bad that person got hurt. Hope they turn out OK. I hate to say this but I’m kinda glad they were in the ambulance and I didn’t have to see them. People were turning around because they knew it would take awhile to clear this, but the one person that drove through the wreck site needs a good weekend in the Gulag to think. We had just loaded the calves on the second trailer when he came barreling through. Fast. And it was slick. I thought the sheriff might get them when they were blocked by the fire truck, but he made it by. Sorry gang, I had to vent a little. That person ticked me off.
