As you have heard, Traxels will be moving up on the hill in the Bluegrass shopping center.

They are officially taking the clock that has been on 2nd St for many years. (Off and On) Almost like a piece of history moving.

Good news, they will still be dealing in the finest quality jewelry and gift products. It Will just be easier to find a parking space.

In a way I am sad but also glad to see them move to a new location that will allow them to more compete with other jewelers on the hill.

Can't really say much more than you have already heard by now other than I will still be shopping with them. I have always found the best quality diamonds at Traxels for the best price.

I had to go buy something from the old store before they made the move. Something that would fit with the 1940's silverware set we have that came from Traxels. I got the little woman a desktop storage box in silver with a similar design as the silverware set we have.

Can't say I will miss them and can say I will see them more since I will be able to find a place to park.

[COLOR=RoyalBlue]I hate to hear traxels moving out of downtown, but the clock should have been moved first since i heard that someone hit the clock sometime thursday or friday. That is a piece of history and the person who hit it should pay for that. The clock would have been safer up on the hill with more parking and less drunks trying to go through downtown.

I got my grandfather's riverboater pocket watch cleaned AND serviced from Traxlers, and they said that he purchased it there. In 1919! Is Traxlers that old??? I may have heard them wrong of course.

But that beauty still runs, and worth about $350. (Of course priceless to us.) I got myself a pocket watch because of that watch of his, from the same store.

I'd hate to see it move, but lets hope it keeps them in business for another how ever many years they've been in business.

Didn't know it had be hit in an accident. I thought they just took it down early.

Hope it can be repaired. It's history is part of Maysville.

What a shame to see something of historical value moved due to lack of traffic in the downtown area. I'm not only talking about the clock but the business as well. I was born and raised in the Maysville area and hate to see the downtown become something of the past.

It would be nice to see someone take intrest in the downtown area and try to bring it back to life. So many small towns have gone to the wayside due to what people consider "PROGRESS". Isn't it time that we stop to think about our heritage and try to preserve it!

I really hate to say this but I don't think it is just "progress" that’s making the businesses move. I have only be here just over 11 years, but used to live down town. It has changed so much. We use to take walks down the streets at night just to enjoy the surroundings. Now with gangs and violence I wouldn't dare do that. I came from Florida and that is one of the reasons I moved here to get away from all of that. I got tired of caring a gun everywhere I went. I know some people that won't even go out at night. If the residents of our own town feel that way how is the guest to our city to feel? Our businesses down town have to worry about their property much more then they use to.... hummm and our police department is where??????
