I was in Pendleton County High School, looking forward to Thanksgiving break. The announcement came over the intercom and the whole school became as quiet as a mouse. The principal left the intercom on and turned on the radio. We listened the rest of the day as we went from class to class. We did not do our regular classes, we just sat in each room discussing the event as it played out and listened to the intercom. Funny how those of us old enough to remember, remember exactly where we were.

Wow, how did I miss this? Can't remember too much what was going on as I was 5. I remember being in the kitchen when everyone jumped up and ran to the TV. I didn't understand what was happening and probably didn't care. I do remember the funeral but I still didn't understand. To a little brat like me, it seemed to drag on for hours.

I was in Mrs. Shelby Wilson's third grade class at Woodleigh School when the principal, Mrs. Alma McClain announced it over the PA. My teacher was visibly upset and my mom was crying when I got home. Sad, sad day.

I was 4. I remember it was the only thing on the 3 or 4 channels of TV for 5 days strait.
I was out side playing when I went inside to watch cartoon. Now at age four I was very disappointed about this.
Because I was a kid and it was "TV" I watched the repays of the funeral over and over again. Time seam to stand still for those days.
I remember watching the horse drawn carriage and the kids following the carriage that where crying cause their dad had died. I don't remember what my mom was doing and I can only remember my dad mowing the yard.
I remember we just moved to this house cause the last house we lived did not have TV. I think the house with no TV was in ongbird. I still call Orangeburg, ongbird because of this memory.

I was 25 yrs old living and working in Indianapolis at G.C. Murphy Company. We were eating lunch in the employee lounge when someone came and told us. I saw Jack Ruby shoot Oswald on live TV. It was an extremely difficult few days. We just stayed glued to the TV.

I was sitting in Steve Barnett's history class at Mason County High School. Everyone was stunned. I also remember seeing Jack Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald on television a few days later. This question also brought to mind a year earlier when we were in the Cuban Missile Crisis and our intercom system at MCHS came on before leaving school for the day. Advice was given as to what to do if we were attacked-store water, sand-bag windows, etc. I remember I was scared to death!

I was 5 years old and I remember mom and dad glued to the tv and dad kept trying to explain to me what was goin on. I was at the age of "whys" so I probably had a lot of questions. I still remember that day when I hear or see footages of the shooting. Very sad.

I was on campus at Michigan State University, walking back to the dorm from class. I remember that there was no one outside, and I wondered where everyone was. When I got to the dorm, everyone was gathered around the common room television. I asked what was going on, and someone told me that the president had been shot. Some of the girls were crying. I did not believe it at first, it was like hearing that there was a death in the family. The television pretty much took over the next few days. A sad sad day.
