I know that we have discussed new construction going on in the area earlier this year, but I just found out that on Tucker Drive a new Sears store is in the works along with a Buffalo Wild Wings. So what do you think of the new business attractions to the area.

I'd prefer to see *new* business over businesses re-locating, but any business is welcome here, so long as it brings new jobs to the area. Now if we could do something about getting the old buildings (IE: Wal-mart building, and the Ken New Market) used for something other than a rat hotel.
Keep us imformed!

I looked into renting the old "Ken's"....wayyyyyyy high. I even ask if they could split into two part (being there is 2 sets of door)...totally out of the question, is what I was told. Yet they would prefer to let it sit there.

Makes you wonder at times how business owners become so successful, with bussiness practices like that? Sometimes I've seen buildings sit for YEARS. (One place in Vanceburg, was sitting for 30+ before the city bought it out and tore it down.) I mean come on!
If I was the owner of Ken's I'd rent it to you in a heart beat, and even split it in quarters, to make something off it.
Guess that's why I'm poor, I don't think of things like that. :)

What about the new “alleged” business in Aberdeen. Elite taxi service and round the clock police protection. Anybody know how it’s doing? Is Buffalo Wild Wings a sports type bar? Someone at work said that it was. But I’m not sure they knew what they were talking about.

I heard Applebee's wants to build in front of Wal-Mart but there is a dispute about where the entrance to the parking lot will be. Has anyone else heard anything about this? I don't know if they want access to the AA or what?

I heard there was a franchise allocated for this area, but a location had not been found yet. Down at the Moose they rattled off a name (I can’t remember who) of somebody that wanted to bring in an Applebee’s but was told someone else already had the rights to build one.
