Okay, so I'm pretty sure that many of us disagree on some of the issues, and by issues I mean things to hate. But I was watching something on TV last night and someone brought up a good point. The following is the cover of a British magazine published just after the election...

So here's my question: Who the heck asked them? We're not the ones who elected Prince Charles. Oh yeah, that's right... neither did they. He's prince because somewhere way back in his genetic pool his great great great great whatever was a tyranical king.
There, something to unite us on.

They have a say in it because they have been EMBRAWLED in it for the last 4 years with us. Tony Blair is a pansy, he will do whatever Bush tells him to. The U.K. population have been complaining and holding demonstrations because of this. They have a right to the opinion that most of the US got it wrong, and yes, I'm sorry to say, but voting for Bush was wrong! Is this my opinion, yes, do I have to be an American to have it, NO! What America does affects all the other countries out there as well. Let me ask you, Jeremy, did you even read this article to find out why they were saying that on the cover? My guess would be no. I am an American and I have opinions about different countries overseas... so what's the difference? Oh yea, America is the bully that thinks it can do no wrong and is the only country that can have an opinion. Thanks for pointing that out to us yet again Jeremy.

It's the same as here in Maysville. People don't realize or understand that choices made Downtown affect the county as a whole. Good and Bad.
Some choices extend out and affect the surrounding counties as well as our own.
You will find Jeremy does support your beliefs in on this topic. His post not only reflects how other countries feel about OUR choice but demonstrates their selfishness in how they choose and support their leaders and not care how we feel. This includes the ones that have inherit (Born in to power) powers over the coarse of time like Prince Charles.
These people could careless about our opinion in their choices and I think Jeremy is saying we could careless if the approve our choices. That would be the common ground.
As for your post I coul not have said it better and I agree 100%. Tony Blair is part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Oops, perhaps I should clarify...
I didn't mean to suggest that we should be united against the Brits. I love the Brits. And I must confess that I didn't read the article.
My point is with the cover only, of that particular magazine, and my issue is with whoever chose that number. 59,054,087 includes everyone who voted. This includes those who voted for Kerry, against the war in Iraq, as well as the many other topics and including those who voted for Bush.
The cover (cover only) suggests that everyone who voted is dumb. I believe that is common ground for those who voted and think their not dumb.
I watched in March of last year as Bush went ahead and thumbed his nose at other countries and I cringed. And I also understand that higher numbers sell magazines. Still, I think that number is completely unfair.

I have been reading Jeremy's posts on here ever since he began posting and I agree with most, if not all of his views. This is one where I differ. I'll use the old addage: You cannot judge a book by it's cover. He did not read what is inside the pages, instead, he took a cover and planted it here to create controversy. I actually agree with them using the number they did. Some of the Kerry supporters are 'dumb'. I've talked to some Kerry supporters who have the lamest excuses as to why they 'couldn't' vote. If we had just done more, maybe we would be cheering instead of booing. So yes, I agree with the cover. I tried to find the article, but I can't. I don't understand how you can say anything about that magazine without reading the article attached to it. It's like when parents say 'because I told you so', instead of explaining why. It's on the surface, you need to dig deeper to develop an intelligent opinion.
I agree with what you said in your last statement, Jeremy. Bush went ahead with his plans in Iraq even though Europe asked him to give it more time. He pretty much told the UN to go sc*ew themselves in the process.

Can't argue with that. Maybe we were all dumb. Ah well, maybe we can all unite in our dumbness.

......who cares what the Brits media thinks??
Remember, most of the media will say about anything negative against the Republican Prez, regardless of who he is. That's the nature of the world's press in the last 25 years.
Fair & balanced?? Yeah, right............see ya Mark

They need to fire all media people...they have been in it to long, and are only in it for the money and prestige. We need fresh faces that will be there to report it right. Good, bad and the ugly. They go off of “he said she said to quickly”
They need to get back to just reporting the news, the real way!
