View Full Version : Can you break and Election Machine

The answer is yes.

Early this morning people were forced to wait 30+ extra minutes to vote at the 21st district poll station. This was in addition to the normal waiting period.

Seems someone pressed the wrong button and the voting machine locked up. The election officials had to call a repair person in to reset the voting machine.

So yes you can break an election machine and I can verify this since I am the person that set freedom to a stand still.

I pressed the button to do a "write in" and the red button started to flash on the top of the machine. I pressed the red button like the instructions said and noting happened. The Machine completely locked up.

Needless to say I did make it out of there alive however I did have my doubts. I did look around the room for an alternate exit but the closes thing I could find was a window that was being blocked or guarded by one of the election judges.

After the Certified Resetting Technician arrived the rumblings from the crowd started to silence.

All in all, freedom to vote was only paused for about 30 minutes and I am sure that no previous data was lost.

Most people that are reading this and know me are not surprised this happen to me. For those that do not know me, "Welcome to the World of Chuck".

"and what election side are you on... is this an example" ....lol

You also know I 'm just kidding with you...that is usually the kind of stuff that happens to me...lol

But as for the vote box...Bush doesn't even need to forgive you...he will win by enough votes anyway...

omg I can't quit laughing....lol

LOL, It was pretty scary.

Bush will probably take Ky. But not so sure about the rest of the country. I am sure we will be chanting Kerry at midnight tonight. Should be an incontestable landslide.

Had to get that plug in there.

lol...still laughing from last post...

They only way that this well be "incontestable" is ...if Kerry wins...because Bush will walk away still a proud man...
But...
When Bush wins...Kerry will whine and stomp around until votes are counted again and if he follows in Gore's shoes he will disappear and pout grow a beard and come back saying he just needed some down time.

First ....it is hard to understand the difficulties in voting....where I live it took me all of 10 minutes, during one of the busiest times of the day. Can't ever remember having trouble voting in Maysville when I lived there.....guess Chuck changed that for you all huh......lol.
Sorry but have to put in my two cents worth.....never could understand how Bush could walk away form anything a proud man. How can you be proud to win an election that you didn't really win? He sure didn't ge elected president by the popular vote.
Hope Kerry wins tonight. I want my nephews and other family members who are in the armed forces back home where they belong....the economy sucks (yes it does....just try getting a decent job right now), taxes are terrible, education is a mess, health care is a mess (yes it is folks), we have terrible relationships with most foreign countries....i mean we sure have gone down hill fast!
It is time for a change and I hope that change comes tonight. But whether or not we get a change....I am still very proud to be an American.

I welcome the two cents, lord knows I always put mine it...lol

He did win, Gore just had to throw a hissy fit.."not fair, not fair"

As for Kerry and "his plan" oh please..he has never told anyone what his "plan" is..
and as for the way everything is now days...its going to be that way no matter what..the Bible tells us of the end days.

I come from a military family..Air Force...and what makes you think Kerry will bring them home any faster...he wants to hunt down terrorists too...and he surly isn’t going to do it his self. He also says he wants to build up our military...how is that keeping our boys home...?

......acloolmom is right. Kerry said so himself in the last debate. Kerry said he wants to "hunt" down the terrorist & kill them. He wants to add 2 NEW divisions ( yet to be formed ) to the Iraqi theatre. Now, I've never spent a day of my life in the military. However, I assume a "division" means 1000's of soldiers, equipment, tanks, guns, trucks, uniforms, planes, ammo, paychecks, well, you get the picture......more money spending.

I hear the Kerry will bring the boys home sooner. I don't see that happening by what I posted above. I see the ol' "tax & spend" liberal coming right out of the woodwork if he gets elected despite what he promised.

Please hold onto your wallet if he's elected cuz it will get SMALLER, smaller, smaller well, you get my drift.

When I get up in the morning, I want to hear the words on my radio....President Bush thanks you for your vote! ................see ya Mark

............and proud you should be, Donna. I use to live in Tallahassee from 1987-88 & really glad to get out of there. Tallahassee was just like Lexington, a college town ( & gov't town also ) that rolled up the carpets at 5pm & then there was nothing to do afterwards.

Yes, I like Ky. a whole lot better! ...............see ya Mark

Sorry but Bush did not win the popular vote in 2000. Bush had a total of 50,456,002 votes, 47.87% and Gore had 50,999,897 votes, 48.38%. Got those numbers from the following websight...
http://www.fec.gov/pubrec/2000presgeresults.htm.

I have never been a fan of the electoral vote. Every other election we have in the U.S. is based on popular vote....why the Presidential Election should be different is beyond me.

winning is who is sitting in the white house...and if you want popular vote ...so be it...that is Bush this election, by a pretty good lead I must say. It is going to be hard to dispute this one...they are saying to far apart on the vote by vote...

I must agree the American People got there day and made the choice. I disagree with the choice but true to my word I will support it.

Remember that I also reserved the right to complain about it. lol

Lets work together to Unite Americans. Lets find solutions to issues and work for a growth that is beneficial to all.
