US government legalizes iPhone 'jailbreaking,' unlocking

The U.S. government on Monday announced new rules that make it officially legal for iPhone owners to "jailbreak" their device and run unauthorized third-party applications. In addition, it is now acceptable to unlock any cell phone for use on multiple carriers.

Heck, if this is now offically allowed, I may get a Iphone. I like the idea too, that not only that, but several things are allowed now.

Like it stopped me or anyone who's capiable of doing this before ;). Nice to see the goverment says we can now. As I've said before, when a big company tells me what I can do with the net I pay for and with the device I buy from them, that's when I stop buying it. :croc:(Chuck and Daphne not included in that statement) :banplease:

It has always been NOT illegal. All they did was confirm that it is not illegal. This is a good thing.
